Talmacsi repeats 125cc morning success

Saturday morning's first run-out of the day ahead of tomorrow's Gran Premio bwin.com de España saw the 125cc second free practice session ending with Bancaja Aspar's Gabor Talmacsi repeating his early morning success from yesterday to emerge as the quickest participant again.

The 25 year-old notched a best time of 1'47.747 with the last of his 18 practice laps, to head the timesheets by 0.355 seconds ahead of Polaris World's Rimini-born rider Mattia Pasini - who took provisional pole in Friday's initial qualifying session.

Talmacsi will also aim to get ahead of 21 year-old rival Pasini during this afternoon's second qualifying run, as he attempts to secure pole himself and make up for the disappointment of losing out on victory by just 0.073 seconds to race winner Hector Faubel in Qatar's season opening Grand Prix a fortnight ago.

Third in this morning's practice period was the man who finished third at Losail, Lukas Pesek, who notched the joint top speed of the morning at 210 kmph on his Derbi mount, recording a best lap just over half a second slower than Talmacsi.

Meanwhile a vastly improved showing by Spaniard Esteve Rabat onboard his Repsol Honda 125cc machinery saw him shoot up the timesheets to fourth after some less than satisfactory results in Friday's opening sessions.

The top five was completed by another Spanish competitor, provisional World Championship leader Faubel, who lapped 0.852 seconds behind Talmacsi and 0.169 quicker than the morning's sixth quickest rider, Simone Corsi.
