Tickets go on sale for Donington Day of Champions

Tickets have gone on sale for this year's Day of Champions, which takes place on June 21st at Donington Park alongside the Nickel & Dime British Grand Prix.

Tickets have gone on sale for this year's Day of Champions, which takes place on June 21st at Donington Park alongside the Nickel & Dime British Grand Prix. A unique event for a worthy cause, attendees will have the chance to see the MotoGP paddock up close, including the 800cc machines used by the riders on race day.

Those wanting to take home a one-of-a-kind souvenir from the Day of Champions will have their opportunity in the ever-popular live auction, where thousands of pounds are raced every year as participants bid against each other for exclusive signed paraphanelia donated by the stars of the MotoGP World Championship.

A ride-in will also give those present the chance to sample some of the thrill of the historic Donington Park track, kicking off from nearby Coalville and culminating in two parade laps of the circuit.

All money raised at the event will directly support the work of Riders for Health – the official charity of MotoGP. Every year 3 million people die in developing countries because of lack of access to treatment. Riders for Health ensures that African health workers have reliable vehicles that never break down, meaning they can reach even remote villages with the kind of regular, reliable health care the developed world takes for granted. Riders for Health has a long history of successful projects, and Day of Champions is one of the key fundraising occasions of the year for the charity. The most recent installment, held at the final race of the 2006 season at Valencia, raised over 48,000 pounds

For tickets, which start at 15 pounds sterling, the Day of Champions ticket line is open from Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm. The number to call is 08702 242 960.
