Pramac d'Antin unanimous in quest for improvement

The Pramac d'Antin Ducati team have been amongst the fastest on the grid in terms of top speed, but have yet to be involved in a battle for podium positions. Luis d'Antin's pairing of Alex Barros and Alex Hofmann are both eager to return to action next week in Turkey, hoping to push towards the business end of the standings.

"I'm very happy to come back to Istanbul, because I like that track so much," commented Brazilian veteran Barros. "I haven't a lot of data at my disposal to do a forecast, I have run at Turkey only one time back in 2005, but I know that Ducati have always obtained good results there. This year, however, we have different bikes, so to understand our level on this track we have to ride at least a few laps on track! I'm fully motivated to do my best to be able to reach my predicted results; in the first two races I made some mistakes, but I think I was unlucky too; we worked well on settings and then I had some problems with the front. I'm confident about the race and, if everything goes the right way, I will be able to get the results that I'm hoping for."

Hofmann is aiming for a top ten finish for the first time on the 800cc Desmosedici, and has been preparing himself for the task over the short break given to the riders after Jerez. "Finally the moment to ride again has arrived!" he comments. "This three week stop was very useful for my athletic and psychological training and now I'm deeply motivated for this third MotoGP date! I like the Istanbul track, in my opinion the track is wonderful and it suits both Bridgestone tyres and the Ducati GP7. I'm very impatient to go down on track, because in the first two races we didn't our best; now we want to show that we can achieve top ten places".

Having seen his team underperform in comparison with the promise shown in preseason testing, Luis d'Antin has set his target on improvement over the next few races.

"Unfortunately the beginning of this MotoGP championship wasn't very good for us; after the good results obtained during the pre-season tests, we had hoped for a little bit more! We know that during the race everything is different from tests, but we are determined to improve our performance and achieve the prefixed aims. This year, as we always said, the Ducati-Bridgestone combination at our disposal has great potential, we have to do the best we can to exploit this to the maximum to show that we can be very competitive. I hope that everything will be perfect for this third round at Istanbul ".
