Bradl may return to 125cc as wild card

German rider Stefan Bradl could make a surprise return to the MotoGP World Championship in 2007 as a 125cc wild card.

German rider Stefan Bradl could make a surprise return to the MotoGP World Championship in 2007 as a 125cc wildcard.

The 17 year old German was unveiled as part of the Repsol Honda team at the beginning of the season, but quietly withdrew from a full-time riding position before the beginning of the season due to personal reasons. He has now made the decision to return to national level riding as a participant in the CEV Buckler, alongside Scott Redding in the Blusens BQR team, although Team Manager Raul Romero has indicated that Bradl may make a return to the world stage over the course of the season.

"Bradl will be trying to win the Spanish Championship, because he is capable of doing so," explained Romero at last week's team presentation. "We also want him to participate as a wild card in the World Championship. We will try and get him to ride for us at Sachsenring, and also if anything were to happen to Pablo Nieto or Hugo van den Berg we would ask him to stand in for them."
