On a day of success for Bridgestone, in which they had eight riders in the top ten, Hiroshi Yamada from the tyre manufacturer gave his expert eye view to motogp.com.

"It was a good day for us; of course it was one of the more difficult tracks for us last year, so I'm glad that we started so well. We lost some time because the track was so slippery this morning, but it is a good start. I think the race will be a little different though," commented Yamada.

He also explained how they chose the best tyres for Casey Stoner, the Ducati rider who topped the timesheets for the first day. The Australian had stated yesterday that his input had been limited owing to his lack of familiarity with the circuit on Bridgestone tyres.
