Following on from a successful implementation at Jerez, the World Championship riders will be given an extra opportunity to practice their starts at the end of the morning warm up in Turkey and throughout the remainder of the season. MotoGP Safety Officer Claude Danis explained the decision to motogp.com ahead of the opening practice sessions for the Grand Prix of Turkey.

"It's a decision we took on the advice of the MotoGP Safety Commission, who requested a chance to work on their starts on race day from the grid. There was a bit of confusion when we tried it at Jerez, because not all of the riders had fully understood the change, but I think it is the most sensible way forward."
