Hopkins: 'It was a real dogfight.'

The podium may have eluded Rizla Suzuki's John Hopkins yet again at the Grand Prix of Turkey, but the Anglo-American rider once more demonstrated his ever improving riding ability and the effectiveness of the 2007 Suzuki package at Istanbul Park.

Despite a nasty pre-season crash and a tumble in Jerez, Hopkins has won plenty of praise already this year with his fourth place in Qatar and now a sixth place finish in Turkey - this time involved in an epic battle with Loris Capirossi, Alex Barros, Marco Melandri and Nicky Hayden for a podium spot which Capirossi ultimately sealed.

Following the race, Hopkins commented: "It was a real dogfight out there, it was back and forth the entire race, and you had to fight for every position, I mean you could have finished third or seventh in that race, no doubt."
