Bartol would welcome introduction of 400cc category

Red Bull KTM's Harold Bartol has commented on speculation about the possible implementation of a 400cc category in place of the existing 250cc class by firmly backing any such move. Speaking to motogp.com, the Austrian explained that an increase up to four-stroke machines would certainly not be opposed in the paddock; as long as it was as part of a unique class.

"Four-stroke machines aren't something that I would see a problem with seeing in the lower cylinder class," said Bartol. "We have a provision up until 2010, so maybe we will see them brought in sometime soon. If we do switch categories, then it would have to be as part of a separate class; not 600cc or anything like that. Then there is the question of introducing it on a national level."

In the exclusive interview, Bartol also assessed his new team lineups in both 250cc and 125cc, looking at how Mika Kallio, Hiroshi Aoyama, Tomoyoshi Koyama, Stevie Bonsey and Randy Krummenacher have started the season.
