Ajo explains Finnish CEV project

Aki Ajo, Manager for Ajo Motorsport in 125cc, spoke to motogp.com in Shanghai about the recent addition of three Finnish riders to the CEV Buckler Spanish Championship as part of an initiative run by Ajo himself.

Aki Ajo, Manager for Ajo Motorsport in 125cc, spoke to motogp.com in Shanghai about the recent addition of three Finnish riders to the CEV Buckler Spanish Championship as part of an initiative run by Ajo himself.

The youngsters made their debut last weekend at the opening round of the championship in Albacete and, although their results were not fantastic, Ajo is looking positively at the future of the project.

"We have incorporated three Finnish riders into the Spanish Championship, because we don't have national competition in Finland. We chose the CEV because in Spain they have probably the best level of talent besides the World Championship," he explained.

"I think wild card appearances in the World Championship are perhaps a little way off, the Finnish riders are too young at the moment, but we will continue with the project and see how they develop," he added.
