Dovizioso critical of Bautista approach

After another 250cc race dominated by World Champion Jorge Lorenzo at the Sinopec Great Wall Lubricants Grand Prix of China, which extended his lead in the general classification to 27 points, third placed Andrea Dovizioso was not a happy man.

Fortuna Aprilia's Lorenzo fought back from sixth place - after an early mistake which had temporarily handed Kopron Team Scot's Dovizioso the lead - to win the race by 3.904s.

Having won in Turkey, Italian 21 year-old Dovizioso was looking for more than third place, but that was what he had to settle for after some daring riding by Master – Mapfre Aspar's Alvaro Bautista - which saw the Spaniard beat him to the line by 1.127s.

Bautista had really pushed it to the limit to get past Dovizioso, who was unhappy with the approach the 125cc World Champion had taken.

"I'm not satisfied with third place. The second place was mine and Bautista was incorrect and dangerous. He knew I had the chance to pass him and so he closed the angle," commented an angry Dovizioso.

"Alvaro is normally a correct rider," he continued, "but this time he was wrong. I'm very upset because second place was important for us, I rode at my limit throughout the race but I know that Lorenzo went faster. Of course I tried to catch him, but lap by lap the gap was getting bigger and it was impossible to reach him. I hope to have a good race in Le Mans, we need points because even if there is a long way to go in the Championship yet, we don't want to get behind."

Meanwhile - pleased with the result rather than disappointed - Bautista gave his side to the story, simply commenting: "It was a race to the limit all along. At the end, when on the brakes with Dovizioso it was incredible, we bumped into each other and we both went a bit wide, but I didn't go as far out as he did and I was able to get another podium. That's three consecutive podiums in the first four races so it's great. I'm very happy."
