Japanese rider Yuki Takahashi will be one of the absentees from the Alice Grand Prix de France this weekend at Le Mans.

Japanese rider Yuki Takahashi will be one of the absentees from the Alice Grand Prix de France this weekend at Le Mans. The Team Scot rider fractured his arm at the last round of the World Championship in China and the last Thursday underwent surgery in Japan.

After several days of rest, Takahashi will head to Italy to begin his rehabilitation with the aim of returning to racing as soon as possible.

The Japanese youngster was unfortunate to injure the same wrist that he broke last summer while was preparing to participate in the annual Suzuka 8 Hours event, but he is remaining positive nonetheless.

"I am recovering well," Takahashi told motogp.com. "The operation was a success. The doctors had to remove the old plate that I was carrying in my arm as it was damaged in the crash, so they have replaced it with a new one. In a few days the stitches will be removed and I will go to Italy to continue with my recuperation."

Takahashi is set participate in oxygen therapy sessions to aid his recovery, a rehabilitation treatment he also underwent towards the end of last year when recovering from multiple leg fractures after his heavy crash in Valencia.
