Edwards and Stoner at odds over Ducati power

Colin Edwards and Casey Stoner are both amongst the most straight-talking of the MotoGP riders, and had something of a comic disagreement at the press conference for the Alice Grand Prix de France over the true potential of the Ducati Desmosedici GP7.

Colin Edwards and Casey Stoner are both amongst the most straight-talking of the MotoGP riders, and had something of a comic disagreement at the press conference for the Alice Grand Prix de France over the true potential of the Ducati Desmosedici GP7.

When quizzed about the lack of long straights at the Le Mans circuit, Stoner explained that the Ducati didn't just rely on top speed for results. He also illustrated that he did not believe that the advantage was really that great.

Whilst Edwards also commented that he believed the Yamaha M1 was the best bike in the world on qualifying tyres, he also jokingly added that "although Casey says that the Ducati isn't fast, he's lying, that bike is as fast as hell!"

The two will be on track tomorrow for the first practice sessions for Sunday's race.
