Capirossi confidence high for Mugello

Despite a somewhat stuttering start to his 2007 season, Loris Capirossi is confident that his season can experience a turnaround of sorts at Mugello, where he has only been off the podium on two occasions in MotoGP. Capirossi took victory in his third premier class race at the Italian circuit in 2000, and last year lost out to Valentino Rossi in a great battle for home glory.

Speaking at this week's Le Mans test, ‘Capirex' indicated that his wet weather set-up was the cause of his most recent setback in France, and explained what the Ducati factory team have in store for him at Mugello.

"The last race was unlucky for me, because normally in the wet I ride really well. We made a mistake with some part of the engine mapping and my bike was really impossible to ride," said Capirossi.

"Mugello will be better for me, I am confident about that. It is a good track for my style because there aren't so many really slow corners –my weak point this season. We have been testing tyres and engine parts in the post-race rides, so we'll see how they help us," added the MotoGP veteran.
