The Red Bull MotoGP Academy riders had a mixed showing at the Circuit de Catalunya last weekend, as they continue their adaptation to 125cc racing as part of the CEV Buckler Spanish Championship.

The Red Bull MotoGP Academy riders had a mixed showing at the Circuit de Catalunya last weekend, as they continue their adaptation to 125cc racing as part of the CEV Buckler Spanish Championship.

Of the trio of riders competing in the Academys third edition, the most successful was Japanese youngster Takaaki Nakagami. Starting from 12th on the grid, Nakagami had a superb second half to the race eventually won by last years World Championship participant Stefan Bradl- and was involved in a tense battle for the places fifth through to ninth. The Academy rider eventually came out sixth at the chequered flag, and elevated himself to sixth in the overall standings.

Team-mates Jonas Folger and Isaac Vinales finished 20th and 27th respectively.
