Confirming information placed on the official entry list last week for the Gran Premio d'Italia Alice, Kurtis Roberts will return to MotoGP for the first time since Valencia in 2005. The American will join brother Kenny in his father's Team Roberts outfit, and he was present at Mugello today to check out the paddock after a lengthy absence.

"It didn't come as a surprise so much as a pleasant development," explained Roberts about the offer to aid development of the KR212V. "Hopefully I can help the team out, and it's really great to be given the chance to ride alongside ‘Little Kenny' in my father's team."

Previously Team Roberts had ruled out the possibility of fielding a two-rider team, primarily due to the extra resources needed. The situation will be difficult for Kenny Sr's team, and Kurtis notes that it is a far from ideal scenario.

"We are only running one bike each, which isn't a great thing when you are fighting for the World Championship….but obviously I'm far from that at the moment!"

The Team Roberts duo will be on track tomorrow for their first ride together on the KR212V.
