Team Roberts to give Rea wild card debut at Donington

Bennetts British Superbike rider Jonathan Rea will make his MotoGP debut at Donington Park later this month as a Team Roberts wild card entry at the Nickel & Dime British Grand Prix.

The 20 year old rider from Ballyclare will ride alongside former World Champion Kenny Roberts Jnr onboard the Honda powered KR212V over the 22-24 June weekend, in the colours of the Oxfordshire based team.

Rea is being given the chance to make his MotoGP appearance at the Leicestershire circuit having caught the eye this year as an HM Plant Honda rider in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, where he is third in the overall BSB rankings at present.

Currently in Japan with his Honda team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari, Rea is preparing for the Suzuki Eight Hours race, and will also compete in the Suzuka 300kms race, before returning to the UK for the sixth round of the BSB championship at Mondello Park - the weekend before his Grand Prix debut.
