The famous Port Olimpic restaurant in Barcelona welcomed some of the riders involved in this weekend's Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya for the official presentation of the event.

New Circuit Director General Ramon Pradera greeted the riders, alongside two commentators from Spanish television channel TVE. Title sponsor Cinzano were represented by their Marketing Manager, and joined Catalunyan Sports Secretary Anna Pruna in paying tribute to the important role played by Spanish riders in the MotoGP World Championship.

One rider who made history at last season's race had a few words for the attendees. Pol Espargaro, who became the youngest rider to take points in a Grand Prix race, declared that on the eve of his sixteenth birthday he was "hoping to have a good race and once again become the youngest rider to achieve something else." 250cc World Champion Jorge Lorenzo, MotoGP riders Toni Elias, Olivier Jacque and Colin Edwards, and two more Spanish representatives in Aleix Espargaro and Joan Olive, all participated in the presentation after arriving early to the Spanish city. Edwards had arrived by ferry from Italy after Sunday's Grand Prix at Mugello.
