Debon returns to Aprilia action this weekend

Aprilia's Alex Debon will be back on track this weekend at his home Grand Prix, one of a series of wild card appearances scheduled for this year. The Spaniard, who tests for the factory and works as an advisor for both Jorge Lorenzo and Pol Espargaro, last competed at Jerez earlier on in the year, taking fifth place onboard the factory Aprilia.

Speaking to motogp.com, the likeable Debon explained that he was eager to return to riding despite a short time away from action on the bike.

"I'm not really on race pace, because I haven't participated in a race since Jerez, but I am keen to do well in Montmelo," explained Debon. "Last year I played an important role in Jorge Lorenzo's title triumph, but this time round my goal is more to develop the Aprilia RSA that we've been developing over the last few weeks."

Debon also added that he has been provisionally scheduled to compete in further races at Brno and Valencia.
