Having incorporated Kurtis Roberts into the team setup, the Team Roberts outfit are still feeling the pressure of new rules and cylinder classes but are facing things with a positive outlook. Chuck Aksland from the team spoke to motogp.com at Catalunya, where last year Kenny Roberts Jr took his first of two podium finishes, to explain the state of play for the riders and mechanics of the KR212V.

Were still trying to get to grips with the bike; its been a rough start to the season and we have a lot to adapt to, so that´s why we brought Kurtis in. It takes us more time than most, because we don´t really have anyone else to base our information on, rued Aksland, well aware of the problems of the development process in a one-rider team.

The Team Roberts Manager saw the incorporation of Kurtis Roberts affected somewhat by the rainy conditions at Mugello last week, but disagreed that the process had been without any degree of success.

In Mugello, a lot of the points that Kenny Jr was making, were what Kurtis was saying as well. That at least helped a lot, to have another voice in the debriefs. So that was kind of like the light at the end of the tunnel, he added, before revealing that the team would not be receiving any new parts for a while yet.At least we have the way forward now, but it will be Sachsenring or Laguna before we have new stuff to try with the bike.

Team Roberts will use rider Jonathan Rea for the next round of the MotoGP World Championship at Donington Park.
