Dunlop continue to run 16' fronts in Spain

With the tyre war raging on in MotoGP, there is no time to stand still for either of the three manufacturers, and Dunlop's latest move has been the development of the 16" front used at Mugello and deemed successful enough to continue with this weekend.

With the tyre war raging on in MotoGP, there is no time to stand still for either of the three manufacturers, and Dunlop's latest move has been the development of the 16" front used at Mugello and deemed successful enough to continue with this weekend. Jeremy Ferguson from Dunlop spoke to motogp.com at the Circuit de Catalunya to explain the development of the new profiles and compounds for the Tech 3 Yamaha team.

"Developed a couple of profiles after Istanbul, then after Le Mans with just Makoto Tamada because Sylvain wasn't in good condition, then the results were positive enough to come to Mugello with race spec 16" tyres. Both riders used them effectively throughout the weekend," said the Dunlop chief, who also commented on the rumours surrounding Bridgestone's use of 16" rears.

"You never say never in this business, but as far as 16" rears go we don't have any plans for that at all at the moment.
