The 2007 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup is proving to be a great success, with two rounds already under the riders belts in front of the Grand Prix crowds at Jerez and Mugello.

In addition to the seven races in the series this year which coincide with Grand Prix weekends, the 13-17-year-old rookies will now also be riding at the 7th KTM Festival - which is being held from September 7-9 at the famous Hungaroring circuit just outside Budapest.

The Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup sees 22 boys and Lucy Gloeckner, the only girl in the field of the best young international riders from 10 different countries, competing for entry into professional road racing on identical 125ccm KTM racing machines.

The entire Grand Prix community have been impressed with the efforts and technical ability of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup participants this far in 2007, including MotoGP legend Mick Doohan - who commented at Mugello: ´I have to admit that I´m surprised by the professional environment and the effort that prevails in the promotion of young riders. In my day I wouldn´t have dared to even dream about such a thing.´

´It´s nice to see how the young participants know how to pay it back with their ambition. Several names will have to be kept in mind, we´re dealing with some really great talent here.´
