Olivier Jacque has been ruled out of the Grand Premi Cinzano de Catalunya after a crash during the morning practice session, which led to a trip to a Barcelona hospital for the French rider.

Jacque suffered the crash towards the end of the session, and was stretchered off the track by marshals. Taken to the Clinica Mobile for tests, he was put in a neck brace as a precautionary measure and x-rayed at the circuit. Further tests will take place on Jacque this afternoon, leaving him unable to ride in this afternoon's qualifying session and thus unable to put in a time for a place on tomorrow's grid.

The incident is the latest in a series of setbacks for the former 250cc World Champion. The Kawasaki rider missed both the Chinese and French races as a result of an arm injury, and in Turkey he also crashed out on the opening lap and received a concussion.
