The quarter litre class race facts for Barcelona ahead of the Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya 250cc contest:

- All six races this year have been won by the rider who has qualified on pole. This is the longest run since full pole position records became available in 1974.

- Jorge Lorenzo will have started from the front of the grid in 50% of the races he has contested in this class thanks to his 19th pole position.

- Hector Barbera, who won the 125cc race here in 2004, is starting from second on the grid for the fourth time this year. On each occasion it has been his great rival Lorenzo on pole.

- Andrea Dovizioso, who scored one of just two wins in 2006 at this track, has scored points at the last 26 successive races.

- Alex Debon has repeated his achievement of last year and qualified on the front row of the grid as a wildcard rider.

- Thomas Luthis second place in the 125cc race here in 2003 was his first ever podium.

- Alex de Angelis is the only rider in any class to have finished in the top four at every Grand Prix in 2007.

- Seventh place is Alvaro Bautistas worst qualifying performance so far this year.
