Rizla Suzukis John Hopkins continued with his current run of form at the Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya as he recorded another solid fourth place, setting the fastest lap of the race in the process and repeating his Barcelona result of 2006.

Hopkins last year bounced back from his involvement in the first corner crash at Montmelo which resulted in a race restart, to record what was then his best ever result as he crossed the line fourth.

This season he has stepped up his game to achieve his first podium and record two more fourth places including todays result - leaving him joint fifth in the general classification with team-mate Chris Vermeulen on 72 points.

Rizla Suzuki are enjoying the 800cc era and in front of a massive crowd of 110,000 plus Catalans Hopkins impressed the fans as he duelled with Valentino Rossi early in the race onboard his GSV-R800- before eventually crossing the line seven seconds behind the bunched leading three but a clear ten seconds ahead of fifth placed Randy de Puniet.

Collecting his thoughts after the action had commenced Hopper commented: We tried as hard as we could. The Bridgestone tyres and the Suzuki were working tremendous, working really, really good. The boys had a little bit of something for us today. The first 15 laps I tried and tried and tried and then about eight laps from the end I started losing a little bit of pace. Its like cycling, once you come out of that draft its so much harder to make it back into the draft.

The Suzuki has definitely made tremendous steps this year were able to consistently run at the front of the pack. Weve got to just keep plugging away. Weve got a two day test tomorrow and Tuesday and theres a couple of things we need to improve on but thats why were testing.
