A selection of MotoGP race facts ahead of the seventh race of the 2007 season at the Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya:

- None of the MotoGP races this year have been won from pole position.

- Valentino Rossi starts from pole for the 39th time in the premier-class. On the last five occasions that Rossi has qualified on pole he has failed to win the race and his last victory from pole was in Malaysia last year.

- If Rossi finishes in the top three it would be his 96th podium in the premier-class - more than any other rider in the history of Grand Prix racing.

- Rossis pole position time is the fastest ever lap of the Catalunya circuit by a motorcycle, 0.015 seconds faster than his pole time last year.

- Randy de Puniet, who has won twice here in the 250 class, has qualified on the front row for the first time in MotoGP. This is also Kawasakis first front row start this year.

- Dani Pedrosa starts on the front row for the first time since the Grand Prix of Turkey.

- Pedrosa is aiming to become the second rider to win in all three classes at this circuit, the other being Rossi.

- Casey Stoner has qualified in fourth place on the grid for the third time this year. In both Turkey and China he qualified fourth and went on to win the race.

- John Hopkins had his equal-best result of 2006 here, finishing in fourth place.

- Nicky Hayden set the lap record here last year on his way to finishing in second place.

- Marco Melandri has finished in the top ten at all sixteen races since he was involved in the first corner incident here last year.

- Alex Hofmann starts from his best position since qualifying ninth at Assen last year.

- Loris Capirossi starts from his lowest grid position in any class of racing since he was 17th on the grid for the 125cc race at Brno in 1990.
