Selected race facts ahead of the 125cc race at the Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya:

- Gabor Talmacsi starts from pole for the first time since the opening race of the year in Qatar.

- Talmacsi has finished fourth at each of the last three races.

- Series leader Hector Faubel starts from the front row for the fifth successive race.

- Sergio Gadea starts from his highest grid position since he was also third at the start of the final race of 2006 in Valencia.

- Bradley Smith starts from the front row for the second time in 2007. Smith has already scored more points in the class than any other British rider since Robin Milton accumulated 46 in 1989.

- Only four riders have scored points at all six races in 2007: Hector Faubel, Gabor Talmacsi, Pol Espargaro and Michael Ranseder.

- Last year Pol Espargaro, celebrating his 16th birthday on Sunday, became the youngest ever rider to score points in Grand Prix racing at the age of 15 years and 8 days.
