Ducati Corse test rider Vittoriano Guareschi, one of the driving forces behind the development program of the Desmosedici GP7, suffered a fractured right wrist in the second of a scheduled three days of testing at Mugello yesterday.

Guareschi was aiming to follow on from the Ducati factory team's progress at Catalunya from Monday and Tuesday, but the incident at the exit of the San Donato corner means that he will be unable to complete the scheduled test.

In his place, former MotoGP rider and current World Superbike participant Ruben Xaus will step in to put the finishing touches to the planned program this morning.
