CEV rider Enrique Jerez will this weekend get his chance to ride a 125cc World Championship bike at Donington Park, moving up from the Spanish Championship to step in for injured Kopron Team Scot rider Dino Lombardi.

The best-performing Honda rider at a national level, riding for Stop & Go, has been given the opportunity to once again prove his worth after competing for Derbi in the 2005 season at the Japanese, Malaysian and Qatari Grands Prix. That time round he was substituting Nico Terol, and managed to score points on two of his three appearances.

"It's never too pleasant to be replacing an injured rider," said Jerez about his latest challenge. "However, to have the opportunity to ride in the World Championship is very important. I have nothing to prove to anybody at Donington; I just have to go about my work the best I can and repay the confidence placed in me by Honda. I can show that I have a place in the World Championship."
