Fiat Yamahas Colin Edwards is hoping for a big improvement this weekend at the Nickel & Dime British Grand Prix, having seen a dip in results in recent weeks.

After achieving the seventh podium in his five years of MotoGP participation in the second race of this season at Jerez and with three front row starts in the opening four races, the Texas Tornado has since collected far fewer points than he would have hoped for.

Form and results have suffered since his first lap crash in Turkey and Edwards 10th place at Catalunya in the last round of the World Championship is his best finish in the last five Grands Prix.

A strong performance and a decent points haul are therefore crucial for the 33 year old American this weekend as he aims to build confidence in preparation for his home race at Laguna Seca in a month´s time.

Edwards has a big fan base in the UK and regards the Donington visit as a prime opportunity to turn form on its head and get his elusive first ever Grand Prix win having previously enjoyed success at the Leicestershire venue where he scored his first MotoGP podium in 2004 and took World Superbike victories in 1999 and 2000.
