Tight-lipped Hopkins predicts bright future

Linked with numerous rides for next season as his current contract with Rizla Suzuki reaches its conclusion, John Hopkins refuses to be drawn in to comment as to which team he will undertake the 2008 season.

Linked with numerous rides for next season as his current contract with Rizla Suzuki reaches its conclusion, John Hopkins refuses to be drawn in to comment as to which team he will undertake the 2008 season with. The Anglo-American was asked his thoughts on his future in yesterday's press conference for the Nickel & Dime British Grand Prix at Donington Park, but would only stretch as far as saying that "its bright."

Having served a valuable part in the transition of the Rizla Suzuki team into a podium challenging outfit, Hopkins is enjoying the fruits of his labour in a season where he has taken his first MotoGP podium and challenged the frontrunners on a number of occasions. This bodes promisingly for Paul Denning's boys in blue as they attempt to secure the services of the 24 year old for future campaigns. Hopkins made clear yesterday that the clincher in any deal would be a top bike.

"I want to be riding a machine that is capable of challenging for the World Championship. That has always been my goal."
