Luthi happy with post-surgery performance

Recently operated on to treat ‘arm pump' in both limbs, Thomas Luthi had expected a difficult day yesterday in his first ride since the minor procedure. However, at the conclusion of the first sessions the Swiss rider reflected positively on what had been a comfortable opening day at Donington Park.

The Emmi - Caffe Latte Aprilia rider explained to motogp.com after the first qualifying session the reasons for his going under the knife.

"In the past few races at Mugello and Catalunya, I had some swelling and stiffness in my arms that was making riding very difficult. That's why I made the decision to be operated on, and for the moment I am very happy with how I'm feeling," commented the former 125cc World Champion.
