Pasini earns fifth pole of the season at Donington

Polaris World's Mattia Pasini continues to do the job in qualifying in 2007 and at the Nickel & Dime British Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon he took his fifth pole position of the season at the eighth round of the 125cc World Championship.

Pasini was seen kicking his bike after failing to finish a race for the fifth time this season at Catalunya, despite the good luck black cat he has recently added to his livery, but in the face of his unbelievable misfortunes he continues to persevere and will aim for his first podium of the year tomorrow from the front of the grid.

Next to Pasini on the front row will be compatriot Simone Corsi of Skilled Racing Team who was a significant 0.447s margin behind his fellow Italian, highlighting the pace at Pasini's disposal.

Third on the grid is Red Bull KTM's Tomy Koyama who was 0.674s slower than Pasini, with current World Championship leader Gabor Talmacsi of Bancaja Aspar fourth thanks to a lap 0.754s off the pole time.

Talmacsi's Aspar colleagues Sergio Gadea and Hector Faubel start fifth and sixth, while the second row is completed by Pablo Nieto (Blusens Aprilia) and Alex Masbou (FFM Honda GP).

Home rider Bradley Smith of Repsol Honda will get away from ninth, while the top ten is completed by Polaris World's Joan Olive who was 1.028s slower than team-mate Pasini.
