Ducati Marlboro's Loris Capirossi and 250cc World Champion Jorge Lorenzo, along with Dutch 125cc youngsters Joey Litjens and Hugo van den Berg, took some time out today ahead of the A-Style TT Assen to enjoy the sights of Amsterdam.

The four World Championship participants took a canal boat across the famous Dutch city, admiring the unique architecture and peacefully enjoying some morning coffee before arriving at the Gassan Diamond House, home to the prestigious diamond firm.

A welcoming delegation of Gassan staff greeted the riders and took them on a tour of the premises, including the workshops where the diamonds are cut and the company's renowned jewellery is produced. Capirossi was one particularly enthusiastic observer and assured his hosts that he would return to visit them again with his wife.

The riders were then presented with champagne glasses as souvenirs of their visit, with Lorenzo getting lucky as he found a genuine diamond lodged in his glass, the authenticity of which was verified by one of the Gassan inspectors on hand. The Majorcan rider joked: "My weekend has started nicely with such an unexpected gift. Now I hope that Assen will give me the points that I lost last weekend at Donington."
