After last years race the MotoGP Safety Commission requested that the run-off areas at the Dutch track be extended at various points. One member of the commission five time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi- suffered injuries last year at the Ramshoek corner which has seen an extra asphalt plateau added to the previous gravel trap.

Before the start of the 2007 season, extra asphalt plateaus were also installed at the north loop, Haar bend Madijk and Ossebroeken, at the exit of the Strubben bend, the exit of the Bult and Meeuwenmeer.
