Zarco on provisional pole for Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup round four

Johann Zarco, winner of the second round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, took provisional pole for Saturday's fourth round at Assen this afternoon.

Johann Zarco, winner of the second round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, took provisional pole for Saturday's fourth round at Assen this afternoon.

The youngster was one of only two riders to go round under 1'52, with Zarco's 1'51.528 lap enough to edge out American Cameron Beaubier in a late session at the ‘Cathedral of Motorcycle Racing'. Beaubier was less than a tenth of a second slower than Zarco, with Kris Turner and Robert Gull rounding off the provisional first row.

Last week's race winner Lorenzo Savadori was fifth fastest on the kit KTM, ahead of Cristian Trabalon and Daniel Kartheininger. The final qualifying session takes place tomorrow at 4.05pm local time.
