Pasini remains on pole as rain arrives at Assen

As the rain began to fall at the A-Style TT Assen early on Friday afternoon the second qualification session for the 125cc riders took place in wet conditions - which prevented any of the participants from improving on the times they achieved yesterday.

Polaris World's Mattia Pasini therefore remains on pole for the sixth time this season with the front row completed by Valsir Seedorf Derbi's Lukas Pesek, Simone Corsi of Skilled Racing Team and Bancaja Aspar's Sergio Gadea.

The second row for the ninth race of the year will comprise Sandro Cortese (Emmi – Caffe Latte Aprilia), Gadea's Aspar colleagues Gabor Talmacsi and Hector Faubel and Multimedia Racing's Raffaele de Rosa.

This afternoon's session saw Pasini take things easy, as he completed just six laps safe in the knowledge that his pole time would not be challenged. The fastest rider in the wet conditions was Mike di Meglio of Kopron Team Scot, though the Frenchman suffered a light crash towards the end of the session.

Just behind Di Meglio on the timesheets in the rain were Bancaja Aspar's Talmacsi and Gadea who will also hope to be on the pace in tomorrow's race whatever the Dutch weather conditions may be, as they look to maintain their respective title challenges.
