The latest round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup saw a spectacular finish, with crashes and controversy at the front.

Luis Salom won a close race, ahead of Cameron Beaubier and Kris Turner. The 16 laps had been largely incident-free, until a three-rider collision involving previous race winners Lorenzo Savadori and Johann Zarco being bowled into by Robert Gull as he attempted to re-enter the track.

Although he crossed the line first, Kris Turner was penalised five seconds for gaining an advantage by cutting a corner, having been forced to run wide and onto the astroturf. Even with his punishment enforced, the American was still able to take third place and a podium spot.
