Lorenzo laughs off talk of nerves

Jorge Lorenzo answered back those who said that he had cracked after crashing out of the race at Donington Park, putting on a masterful display at Assen to take his sixth win of the season from pole.

Now 23 points ahead of joint second place riders Andrea Dovizioso and Alex de Angelis, the reigning 250cc World Champion appears to have one hand on the 2007 crown already unless he suffers a disastrous reversal of fortunes in the second half of the season.

However, Lorenzo has no intention of taking his hand off the throttle, emphasising after the race that his rivals are still tough competitors, and that he has to be at the top of his game every time out to beat them.

"Easy? The last race was far from simple for me. De Angelis made things difficult for me and put me under pressure right until the end," said the Spaniard after the spraying the victory champagne and celebrating with his latest ‘stunt double'.

"After the crash at Donington Park, I heard journalists saying that I was nervous, so my celebration today was to sit down and relax with a spot of tea," he explained to motogp.com.
