Amidst treacherously wet conditions at Knockhill, Jonathan Rea took his first double of his Bennetts British Superbike career with two runaway victories.

The Englishman, who will represent Honda in the Suzuka 8 Hour race at the end of this month and was set to compete for Team Roberts at Donington Park, took victory in race one with an advantage of more than six seconds over team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari and Leon Haslam. The race had been delayed by almost an hour owing to the weather conditions, and was reduced to 24 laps.

Race two was a similar affair, with Rea winning from pole ahead of the same two riders. This time, however, it would be Haslam who took second spot, courtesy of a masterful out-braking move on lap 20 to pass the current series leader.

Kiyonari, who will also participate in the Suzuka 8 Hour race alongside his BSB commitments, heads Rea and Gregorio Lavilla in the championship standings, with the next British race taking place at Oulton Park on July 15th.
