Checa delays 8 Hour test due to jet lag

As reported earlier in the week, Carlos Checa arrived in Japan on Monday night to prepare for his first test with the Honda CBR1000RRW; the bike that he will be using in the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hour race at the end of this month.

Coming directly from the Netherlands, and on the back of an unforgiving schedule that took in two Grands Prix in six days, Checa made the decision to delay his getting on the bike for the first time until late Tuesday afternoon, citing jet lag as the impediment to an early appearance.

The Spaniard will team up with British Superbike star Jonathan Rea in one of the Honda teams for his second appearance in the endurance event. Today will be his final chance of the week to test the machine and put some preparation laps in, before he returns to Europe ahead of the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland.
