A win for Fiat Yamaha's five-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi this weekend at the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland would be the 200th premier-class victory by an Italian rider in the history of Grand Prix racing.

A win for Fiat Yamaha's five-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi this weekend at the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland would be the 200th premier-class victory by an Italian rider in the history of Grand Prix racing.

Rossi's Dutch success the weekend before last took the tally to 199 for Italian wins and he will aim to make it a double century for his country on Sunday at the Sachsenring circuit in Germany - where he has won on his last two visits.

Italy are the most successful nation in terms of premier-class victories, as shown in the following table:
