Bancaja Aspar's Gabor Talmacsi took provisional 125cc pole for the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland at Sachsenring this afternoon with an excellent performance which saw him lap more than half a second faster than his nearest rival.

The 26 year-old Hungarian rider, who is currently second in the World Championship standings, put in a new circuit best lap of 1'26.930s on the 13th of his 15 qualifying attempts – to give him a 0.535s advantage over second fastest participant Mattia Pasini (Polaris World).

The rest of the top ten riders in this instance all recorded best times within a second of Pasini's effort, with Sandro Cortese (Emmi Caffe Latte) and Talmacsi's Aspar colleague Sergio Gadea (Bancaja Aspar) completing the provisional front row.

Current World Championship leader Hector Faubel (also Bancaja Aspar) was fifth quickest and therefore sits at the front of the provisional second row just ahead of Lukas Pesek (Valsir Seedorf Derbi), Bradley Smith (Repsol Honda) and Michael Ranseder (Ajo Motorsport).
