Ryuichi Kiyonari and Jonathan Rea took a victory apiece but both suffered crashes in the latest round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at a rain-soaked Oulton Park last weekend.

The results from the eighth round of the British championship leave the situation at the top standings as it was, with Japanese rider Kiyonari still eleven points ahead.

Rea set the early pace in the opening race and was leading from pole on the fourth lap when his HM Plant Honda kicked out of line, and threw him to the ground – to leave Kiyonari to push through for his sixth victory of the campaign while behind him Shane Byrne took second place on his Stobart Vent Axia Motorsport Honda.

Rizla Suzuki rider Chris Walker was third and Airwaves Ducati man Leon Haslam was fourth.

In the second race an unshaken Rea again made a great start, with Kiyonari briefly taking the lead only to crash at the same place on the Oulton track as his team-mate had fallen earlier.

Rea got is head down to earn a comfortable fourth victory of the season, finishing 12 seconds clear of Hydrex Honda rider Karl Harris who was second, while Byrne was third and Haslam fourth.
