World Champion Nicky Hayden was back in his native United States making a special appearance in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, ahead of this weekend's Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix.

Following his superb ride from fourteenth on the grid to take his second podium in successive races at the weekend in Germany, the 25 year-old from Owensboro, Kentucky headed straight to the West Coast of the States - where he was given a hero's welcome at the LA Dodgers vs Philadelphia Phillies MLB game.

The Kentucky Kid enjoyed a chat with Dodgers second baseman and huge motorcycle enthusiast Jeff Kent, was given a guided tour of the Dodgers Stadium and took the customary honour of throwing the first pitch.

The match ended with the Dodgers going down 15-3 to the Phillies.
