Although the 250cc category does not run at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, three riders from the quarter litre class have made the journey stateside to take in the action at Laguna Seca.

The biggest name present is reigning World Champion and current 250cc class leader Jorge Lorenzo, who has got himself a ‘summer job' of sorts working for Spanish television channel TVE on their MotoGP coverage. The Majorcan will be giving his insight to Spanish viewers during today's race from the commentary booth, and has been doing some rigorous homework in the Laguna Seca press room.

Also present is title hopeful Alex de Angelis; one of the most consistent riders in the category. The San Marino rider is also doing a bit of work on the side, joining the Mediaset Italian broadcast crew in America.

250cc rookie Karel Abraham is also present, taking in the action on a solo excursion stateside.
