Following a short summer break from team activity, Rizla Suzuki MotoGP stars John Hopkins and Chris Vermeulen will visit the historic Assen circuit in the Netherlands this weekend, as the special guest stars at the annual Rizla Racing Day.

The gifted pair will demonstrate the awesome power of their Suzuki GSV-R 800cc prototype MotoGP machinery to the assembled crowd on Sunday, each undertaking five exhibition laps of the 4.5km track at 1.15pm local time (11.15am GMT), followed by another five lap demonstration at 2.00pm local time.

The Rizla Racing Day is supported by Suzuki, and is a unique motorsport event which provides fans with an opportunity to witness several different types of race machinery including Formula 3 cars and Supercars - whilst the latest rounds of the European Superkart, Dutch Superbike, Supersport and Superstock Championships will all take place at the track on Sunday.

In anticipation of the big day Vermeulen commented: Ive been really interested in this event since we were asked to attend; it is something so different and it will be great to be involved. I have a big interest in cars as well as bikes so Im hoping I get the chance to have a good look around the Supercars and see them in action. This is something quite unique having cars, bikes and karts on the same programme and Im really pleased that we will be there as special guests, to show the Dutch fans what our bikes can do!

The Rizla Racing Day is a free-to-attend event with tickets and more information available by visiting www.rizla.nl.
