A busy first day at the Cardion ab Grand Prix Ceske republiky ended with American youngster Cameron Beaubier taking pole in the second qualifying session of the afternoon in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

A busy first day at the Cardion ab Grand Prix Ceske republiky ended with American youngster Cameron Beaubier taking pole in the second qualifying session of the afternoon in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

The young riders are participating in the sixth round of the 2007 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup at Brno, with Beaubier set to start on pole following his qualifying success on Friday - as he looks to maintain his current good form after he came second in Assen and took victory at the Sachsenring in the last race.

Beaubier, who is third in the general standings, qualified on pole by a margin of just 0.260s ahead of second place Johann Zarco of France who is currently second in the standings.

Current Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup leader Lorenzo Savadori may have his work cut if his is to maintain first place in the competition as he will start from ninth place on the grid tomorrow.
