In customary fashion the 125cc riders were the first out on track at the Cardion ab Grand Prix Ceske republiky this morning, in overcast but dry conditions at Brno, with World Championship leader Gabor Talmacsi emerging on top in the early free practice run.

With the 250cc and 125cc riders not visiting Laguna Seca with their MotoGP counterparts, this was the first on-track action for the single cylinder competitors since Sachsenring on 15th July and Talmacsi continued his good form following victory in Germany to set the pace in the Czech Republic this morning.

The Hungarian rider, who heads the general standings by two points from Bancaja Aspar colleague Hector Faubel and is assured of plenty of Eastern European support this weekend, topped the Friday morning timesheet by 0.189s from his other Aspar team-mate Sergio Gadea.

Home rider Lukas Pesek (Valsir Seedorf Derbi) will be desperate for a good result this weekend in front of the Czech fans and he lapped third quickest in this run-out with a time 0.456s off the pace, while Polaris Worlds Mattia Pasini and Belson Campatella Aprilias Pol Espargaro were fourth and fifth fastest respectively.

The timesheet also featured Michael Ranseder (Ajo Motorsport), Sandro Cortese (Emmi Caffe Latte Aprilia), the aforementioned Faubel, Randy Krummenacher (Red Bull KTM) and Simone Corsi (Skilled Racing Team) in the top ten.
