World Champion Jorge Lorenzo extended his advantage at the head of the 250cc general classification to 30 points at Brno this afternoon, with an excellent performance which earned him his seventh Grand Prix victory of his title defence season.

In the first race since the summer break and the announcement that Lorenzo will move into the premier class next year with Yamaha, the 20 year-old king of the quarter litre class dominated the race from pole to cross the line seven seconds ahead of second placed Andrea Dovizioso (Kopron Team Scot).

The third podium spot at the Cardion ab Grand Prix Ceske republiky went to Mika Kallio (Red Bull KTM) after Alex de Angelis (Master Mapfre Aspar) crashed with three laps to go when trying to overtake the Finnish rider. It was the first time De Angelis has failed to finish in a top four spot this year, as he remounted to finish eleventh, slipping behind Dovizioso in the standings in the process.

Lorenzo's mentor and close friend Alex Debon crashed out at high speed when in eighth place on lap ten, but their was better luck for fellow Spanish Aprilia riders Hector Barbera (Team Toth) and Alvaro Bautista (Master Mapfre Aspar) as they came across the finish line fourth and fifth respectively.

The top ten also featured Hiroshi Aoyma (Red Bull KTM), Thomas Luthi (Emmi – Caffe Latte Aprilia), Repsol Honda pair Julian Simon and Shuhei Aoyma and Roberto Locatelli (Metis Gilera).
