Following the Cardion ab Grand Prix Ceske republiky the entire MotoGP grid have remained at Brno for two days of testing, with the exception of Honda Gresini - due to the injuries currently being carried by Marco Melandri and Toni Elias. A number of 250cc teams have also stayed on in the Czech Republic as they go in search of improvements ahead of the final stages of the season.

In recent years the customary Brno tests have been acknowledged as virtually the last opportunity for the teams to increase competitiveness of their racing prototypes and gather tyre data as the World Championships draw to their conclusions and preparations for the following season start to take place.

Although Ducati Marlboro already appear to be in advance of their MotoGP rivals in technical terms, neither World Championship runaway leader Casey Stoner nor his Suzuki-bound team-mate Loris Capirossi will squander this chance to make what could be miniscule yet crucial improvements to the already awesome Desmosedici GP7 – Bridgestone combination.

Fiat Yamaha clearly have some work on their hands to make Valentino Rossi's package more important, while the positive results of the Catalunya test for Repsol Honda and Nicky Hayden in particular mean they are certain to be making the most of these key sessions at the historic Eastern European venue.

The tests are also important for the 250cc competitors, with Emmi - Caffe Latte Aprilia, Kopron Team Scot, Master - Mapfre Aspar, Honda LCR and Red Bull KTM all scheduled to participate.
